We recommend that all women receive a routine annual gynecologic check-up to maintain optimal health and to identify any gynecologic issues. The yearly exam generally includes a screen for cervical abnormalities as well as a comprehensive pelvic and breast exam. In addition, your physician or healthcare provider may recommend screenings for thyroid disease, cholesterol, diabetes, anemia, bone density and a variety of other conditions.
While Dr. Cobb and Dr. Islam are conservative in their approaches in dealing with most gynecological issues that may arise, they are at times faced with conditions that may be most appropriately treated with surgical intervention. They pride themselves in using the most advanced techniques in minimally invasive surgery. This affords patients a shorter hospital stay as well as a quicker recovery period overall.
