Every pregnant woman deserves quality obstetrical services & care. Dr. Cobb and Dr. Islam will work with you to provide the best care, answer your questions and keep you informed during every phase of your pregnancy.

Pre-conceptual Care

Because a healthy pregnancy begins before conception, careful consideration in choosing an obstetrical physician is important. Dr. Cobb and Dr. Islam take a pro-active approach.  A pre-conceptual visit allows our providers to screen for various medical conditions, evaluate for genetic concerns, and present the necessary steps for a healthy pregnancy. Through this screening, evaluation, and education process, we optimize preparation for our patient’s best possible experience during pregnancy.

Your First Prenatal Appointment

In your first visit, a complete medical and surgical history is recorded. Dr. Cobb and Dr. Islam cover the basics of pregnancy and the options available to you for testing. They also establish a care plan based on an integration of your desires as well as the most up to date obstetrical practices.

Care During Pregnancy

During pregnancy, Dr. Cobb and Dr. Islam schedule visits for regular check-ups, lab tests, ultrasounds, genetic screening and –if necessary-counseling. They also discuss fetal development, progression of your pregnancy, and preparation for delivery.

Delivery & Beyond

Our staff at Palomar Pomerado Hospital has a dedicated Women’s Birth Center which is equipped with a Level II neonatal intensive care unit. The Women’s Center is comprised of eleven private, birthing suites, most equipped with a laboring tub and shower.
